If you’re a BrOTP ’shipper (that is, a fan of the Barney/Robin relationship in CBS’s comedy How I Met Your Mother), you were probably as excited as I was to see that kiss (!!!!!!)—not to mention the fabulous almost-kiss that started it all—at the end of last week’s episode, “Disaster Averted.” (Watch the B/R deliciousness of which I speak here.)
Personally, I was caught completely by surprise, and I LOVED it. I’ve been patiently waiting for these two to get back together since the moment they broke up in that Season 5 episode that shall not be named. (That’s two years, people!)
But tonight’s episode, “Tick Tick Tick,” revealed another shocker—[highlight for episode spoilers] things only got more heated between Barney and Robin from there. As in, they, uh, cheated on their significant others, Nora and Kevin. ... Yeah. Hmm. Soooo, how are we feeling about that? Still delighted about the turn this season has taken, or soured on the whole deal? (Personally—and I’ve said this before on Twitter—[highlight for episode spoilers] my favorite fictional characters cheating doesn’t bother me as much as it probably should anymore. But that’s a whole other post.) How’d you feel about how the aftermath played out?
