What Are You Reading?

Each Friday, The Book Maven from Friday Reads asks everyone to share what they’re reading via social media, and Heroes and Heartbreakers’ Facebook page does the same.

But today, since we’ve gotten a whole extra hour thanks to Daylight Savings Time, we’ll ask you what you’re reading—it’s a given that you likely used your bonus hour to catch up on your current can’t-put-it-down book.

But what is it? Share in comments, and then share with us each Friday at Facebook!

I am going to be starting The Guardian by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Been waiting and waiting for it to come in at the library.

I just stared JR Ward's Envy--her style of writing inspired my hypenated 'can't-put-it-down' in the post.
@Kiwi, it is SO HARD to wait for books at the library. Congrats on your patience!

I finished The Black Hawk which lead to a re-read afternoon of The Forbidden Rose and The Spymaster's Lady. Now I am at a loss as how does one follow that trio?

I finished "Again" by Kathleen Gilles Seidel, the last of the books by this author that my library managed to borrow for me. Now I don't know what I'll pick up next; probably a re-read of an old favorite.

I am such a sap ... this weekend I started reading the BDB for the umpteenth time, starting with Rhage's Lover Eternal to Zsadist's Lover Awakened, through Butch's Lover Revealed to V's Lover Unbound. Then I went off the rails and read the Z and Bella novella "Father Mine," and now I'm reading my favorite parts of Payne and Manny's Lover Unleashed.

I find I tend to read them in that order now ... I like the Z/Butch/V arc.

Next I'll probably hit John's Lover Mine again.

Does anyone else re-read series out of order, or skip particular books in a series?

I do have series where I re-read just my favorite bits and skip over some of the other stories, depending on my mood.

The Vorkosigan series by Louis MacMaster Bujold is a perfect example. Want a romance? Read "Cordelia's Honor", "Komarr", "A Civil Campaign" and "Diplomatic Immunitie". Want space opera? Read "The Vor Game" and Warrior's Apprentice". Need Characters in Transition? Read "Memory" and "Cryoburn".

Now that I think on it, no mater what I'm looking for I can always find it within this series!

There were so many good new releases last week. I plowed through Drink Deep by Chloe Neill, Flesh and Blood by Kristin Painter, Darker Still by Leanna Renee Hieber and The September Queen by Gillian Bagwell over the course of the last few days (all of which I really enjoyed!).

After reading The September Queen I was in the mood for another historical so I pulled Before Versailles by Karleen Koen off my bookshelf and started it last night....great book so far!

I'm working my way through the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. Also reading Elizabeth Hoyt's Scandalous Desires. Oh...and listening to Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh on audio.

How can I say just one? I'm wallowing in Betty and more Betty Neels (plus everything else that's on my TBR). I found a treasure trove of the older Betty books. Exactly right now? "The Course of True Love" ... first sentence of back cover copy, "Were Dutch doctors always so arrogant." Mais oui gentle reader! Always :)

Kushiel's Justice. Finally got around to Imriel's trilogy and am now asking myself why the heck I waitied so long?! Meanwhile, the virtual TBR pile keeps getting taller and taller...
