Barney and Robin in How I Met Your MotherIf you’ve seen tonight’s How I Met Your Mother, “The Rebound Girl,” you already know exactly what this post is about. So instead of whiting out my spoiler-y thoughts, here I’m just gonna say: WHOA. And then share my spoiler-y thoughts in the comments.

Then, because once just wasn’t enough: WHOA.

Eloquent, I know, but you get the point. Can this possibly be real??? I don’t think this show has shocked me so many times (see my last Barney/Robin post as evidence—and I don’t take OMGDidYouSee posts lightly) in its entire seven-season run, but so far, it’s keeping me a pretty happy Barney/Robin shipper. How about you?

I almost fell off the couch when Robin said "I'm pregnant." I just thought she was upset about Marshall and Lily moving because of what had happened with Barney in the last ep, NOT because she was dealing with a whole new problem!

But anyway. Lots to discuss here. For instance, first of all, is this just a fake-out? I wouldn't be at all surprised if it turns out to be a scare. On the other hand, one would hope Robin wouldn't say something as firm as "I'm pregnant" if she hadn't, in fact, confirmed this. This wasn't "I'm late" or "I think I might be pregnant."

Second...who's the baby daddy? I hope that if the show does go through with another pregnancy this season (which, to be honest, I just can't see...I really do suspect a fake-out), it's Barney's baby, obviously, but sadly we can't rule Kevin out. Though it'd be pretty odd if she got pregnant by Kevin, who hadn't gotten her pregnant up to that point, right after a night with Barney.

Finally, wondering how this will impact the B/R ship no matter what happens. Barney seemed pretty willing to forgive Robin and at least attempt to rebuild their friendship AGAIN, but this will throw another wrench into things. And would I even like seeing Barney and Robin with a kid of their own? Not sure...
