Why See The Avengers?

This new clip for The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon, was all over the web yesterday, and perhaps you’ve seen it already. But who can’t enjoy it a second (or fiftieth) time?

Robert Downey, Jr.’s way with sharp, clever dialogue is just one of the reasons we all fell in love with him again post-rehab (plus there’s that whole ’reformed bad boy’ thing we seem to love).

And if you’re feeling less cerebral, make sure to take an eyefull of Chris Hemsworth’s arms.

In fact, this trailer brings so much of the pretty we don’t know if we can stand it. So a quick poll (answer in comments):

Are you planning on seeing the Avengers because:

a) you are a big comics fan?

b) you like action and adventure-type movies?

c) IronMan can suit you up anytime?

d) Chris Hemsworth’s massive biceps?

e) you liked Jeremy Renner in that Iraqi war movie?

f) you’re hoping Gwyneth Paltrow’s character gets offed, like in Contagion?

g) you’re a Joss Whedon fanperson?

h) none of the above/some of the above/hell no, I’m not seeing this! (specify below)

Most definitely all of the above. Heck, I was reading The Avengers back in the Scarlet Witch days! I saw the trailer, wiped off the drool and said, "Is it May yet? Huh? Huh? Is it?"

I'm like a kid who can't wait until the holidays.

I pretty much go to see all movies that are adaptations of superhero comic books...but that said, I'm excited to see if the movie can pull off something great with an ensemble cast.

Most of the reasons listed are good enough to see the movie. The trailer promises a high level of snark, intersperced explosions and Chris Hemsworth's deliciousness... kind of win all around.

And am I the only one who watched that trailer and then thought, "Damn, I want to work for S.H.I.E.L.D."?

I like comic book movies and, well, it's Joss Whedon, and I can't say no to Joss Whedon projects (err, except Buffy and Angel, that is).

ALL OF THE ABOVE. And more besides. Am not watching this trailer, though, and you can't make me. Get thou behind me, foul temptress! I am going into this movie unspoiled if it KILLS ME. (And it may well.)

All of the above, with an extra helping of c and d, please.

I've always been in the 'Thor really is an asshole" camp, but I am willing to overlook that because, d. And c.

mainly d. I was never a big comic book fan. My bff and her boyfriend talked me into going to see Thor and I am hooked on these movies. I have gone back and watched the rest of the movies so I would be ready for the Advengers. I can't wait!
