You’d think we’d be inured to this kind of thing by now—but no, our hearts fell a smidge when we saw the news that there are plans afoot to reboot Beauty and the Beast, the ’80s show starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman.
The new version is described as a “modern day romantic love story with a procedural twist.” Whatever that means.
On one hand, some of the folks who did the original show are on-board with this version, too, so perhaps it will be able to retain some of what made the first version so memorable. And there’s Star Trek and Battlestar Galactic, both of which were relaunched to success.
On the other hand, there’s Bionic Woman, Hawaii 5-0, Beverly Hills 90210, and Melrose Place.
