For the Love of...Kick-Ass Heroines (Zoe Saldana in Colombiana)!

We at H&H are clearly fans of the beefcake trailer (see: Jason Momoa's hot, sweaty chest in Conan the Barbarian), but we don't want to give the impression that we don't love it when a lady kicks ass (and, we daresay, takes a few names). Because we do.

Check out this new trailer for the movie Colombiana featuring Zoe Saldana as an assassin bent on vengeance. Plus she gets some hot sexy love from some hot guy who presumably is not as kick-ass as her. Love it!

The film opens in theaters September 2.

So who's your favorite kick-ass heroine, from books or film?

It does, and I think some of the same ppl were involved in making both. Why fuss with a good thing, they probably said? Especially if the new good thing involves Zoe Saldana.

I will definitely watch this. I liked Salt and usually go for the revenge movie with gusto.

As for kick-ass heroines in books, I love Kate Daniels and all of Shelly Laurenston's gang. Eve Dallas is great too. And I will confess that I still get a kick out of Anita Blake. Murphy from the Dresden Files comes to mind. Heck, there are so many great kick-ass heroines out there, I know I'm leaving many out of my list!

I'm loving that not only is this a movie about a kick-ass woman of color, but that Besson has acknowledged the diversity of South America! Plus--Michael Vartan (yum)!! I can't wait to see this!

My favorite kick ass heroine will always be Lara Croft. I've loved the character since game one. In fiction, Kate Daniels, Damali Richards, and Rachel Morgan come to mind.
