Vampire Diaries Convention Squee!

The Cast of the CW’s The Vampire DiariesThis week, The Vampire Diaries returns from a six-week hiatus, and during the break, the stars—and their hundreds of shrieking fans—converged in Atlanta, Georgia, for a Vampire Diaries convention.

In addition to the hundreds of shrieking fans, there were also too many martinis, hot actors, lots of Katy Perry songs, and vampire-souvenir shopping.  And I was right in the middle of it all (even if I often found myself almost trampled in the crowd, since I am rather, er, vertically challenged . . . ).

Kiss Me, I’m Irish: St. Patrick’s Day Romance Recs

Green BeerSt. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays. Not just because it's an excuse for everyone to find a pub, drink Irish coffees and Shamrock-tinis, and sing along to Young Dubliners songs very, very loudly (though that is a definite plus!). It always reminds me of when I was a kid, and my grandparents would have the biggest St. Patrick's Day party in the neighborhood. (You know the bit in My Big Fat Greek Wedding where the parents have a gigantic Greek flag on their garage door while they roast a lamb and dance around in the front yard? Like that, only with an Irish flag . . .)

Why Vampire Diaries Kicks Twilight Butt

The Vampire Diaries

I'm Laurel McKee, and I have a confession to make. I’m a 30-something with a writing career, a mortgage, and a car payment; a responsible, somewhat mature woman—and I am completely obsessed with The Vampire Diaries. It’s not my first relationship with a CW show—I’m also quite fond of Gossip Girl, with its gorgeous clothes and rich, skanky teens. But it’s nothing like my love of Vampire Diaries.
